Snake Gully Cup Calcutta
A popular tradition as part of the Snake Gully Carnival is the Snake Gully Cup Calcutta. This will be held at the Gundagai District Services Club starting at 7.30pm. Entry is free and the draw for horses will take place from 8pm.
There's no better way to get ready for Snake Gully Cup day!
Snake Gully Cup Day (Friday 13 Nov 2009)
- Gates open 11am. Admission $15 adults, concessions available
- Courtesy buses to and from the racecourse
- Buy a ticket and be part of the Snake Gully Cup Marquee (download booking form)
- Host a private marquee with various food and beverage packages available
- Greg Radley will host his 2KY raceday program (9am) live from the Gundagai racecourse
- Full TAB meeting
- Fashions on the Field with more than $2,500 in prizes
- $50,000 Snake Gully Cup feature race
- Big screen
- Sky channel - live broadcast from the course
Please note: There is no BYO alcohol allowed on to the racecourse due to Liquor License regulations. All sales of alcohol are through the Gundagai-Adelong Racing Club (beverage packages for private marquees must be arranged prior to Snake Gully Cup day).
Hair of the Dog Day (Saturday 14 Nov 2009)
Saturday is Hair of the Dog Day as part of the Snake Gully Cup Carnival.
Taken from the colloquial saying "the hair of the dog that bit you", this day is fast becoming a classic of country racing and is a great follow up to Friday's Snake Gully Cup.
- Gates open 11am. Admission $10 adults, concessions available
- Courtesy buses to and from the racecourse
- Full TAB meeting and coincides with the big Sandown Classic meeting in Melbourne
- $12,000 feature race - Hair of the Dog 1800m
- Great family day out with free showbags (limited numbers) and entertainment for the kids
